Bloomington, Ill. (April 14, 2010) – Parker Productions, Inc. is bringing a new event for women to the Twin City area at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
The first-ever What Women Want NOW Expo will take place Saturday, September 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington.
“Local women in the past had to travel out of town to attend an event of this magnitude,” said U.S. Cellular Coliseum Vice President/General Manager Bart Rogers. “Now it’s right in their own backyard in Bloomington.”
Coliseum officials wanted a trade show that would highlight area business, both geared toward and run by women. “Women are a key element to the success of Bloomington-Normal,” said Patti Parker, owner and president of Parker Productions, Inc., which is organizing the event. “This new show is more than a display of goods and services, but a celebration of the talents of women in the Twin Cities.”
Parker said her first reaction to the idea of a women’s expo in Bloomington inspired the title. “When the U.S. Cellular Coliseum asked if my company would produce the first annual women’s trade show – immediately I thought, “What do women want NOW?”

“This expo is going to be designed around that very question – What do women want NOW?” said Parker who noted answers from women of all ages and lifestyles will be heard through radio call-ins and social media networking, including Twitter, Facebook and YouTube video testimonials. She said all expo video participants will receive an opportunity to win the “Best Answer Ever” Grand Prize.
