Bloomington, Ill. (March 30, 2010) – The U.S. Cellular Coliseum is happy to announce for the first time ever Evolution Extreme Action Sports Tour on May 22, 2010.
Born in the 1970’s, Extreme Freestyle is one of the fastest growing sports in the World. With the annual ESPN's Winter/Summer X Games in full swing the sport is growing around the globe. Bloomington, Illinois US Cellular Coliseum will host City #6 thanks to the hard work of O’Brien’s Mitsubishi. The Evolution Extreme Action Sports World Tour comes to Bloomington on Saturday, May 22nd. For the first time ever this event combines three of the top Action Sport fundamentals; BMX, Freestyle Motocross and the hot new sport Extreme Trials. The Evolution Tour was conceived to showcase the roots of Extreme Sports and the ever popular Back Flip variations showing the progression of the sport which was founded by BMX in the 1970’s. The tour will also combine music with the three sports in a way that will have fans out of their seats. The International tour will be showcasing top Freestyle BMX, Freestyle Motocross, and Extreme Trials athletes that will tour to all four corners of the globe.
Freestyle Motocross will be composed with a competition style, where each athlete will perform 60 seconds on an oval track. The track is composed of two 60 foot steel ramp to ramp setups with a center floor BMX Freestyle course.
The Extreme Trials element of the show is an awesome demonstration of the skill and control of modern Moto-trials. One of the highlights of the night will be featuring 10-Time National Champion Geoff Aaron free riding and attacking a series of mobile obstacles. Whether Geoff is flying up a 10' vertical wall, jumping across big gaps, doing 180 degree helicopters, bunny hops, insane trick riding, full speed stoppies, or an endless array of balance skills, you can be certain that the Extreme Trials will drop jaws and make people smile.
BMX and Freestyle Motocross riders will electrify the audience with their death-defying display of aerial acrobatics like nothing fans have ever seen before. Fans will see the world famous Back Flips, Super Flips, Kiss of Death, Cliffhanger, Corpse, Superman Seat grabs, Whips, Rock Solids, Heart Attacks and much more. Athletes will reach for the sky at over 40 feet vertical over a 60-70 foot gap.
The showcase will start off at 6pm on Saturday May 22, 2010 with an all-access meet and greet where everyone with a ticket will get the opportunity to meet the pro athletes. Showtime will start at 7:30pm and will kick off with a hardcore knockout competition. Top Pro athletes fight for tour points to become the World Champion of the Evolution Action Sports Tour.
